Dianne's Bio
I grew up in west Tennessee and received a bachelor’s in psychology and English from the University of Tennessee at Martin (where I met my future husband). A few years later I earned a master’s of education from the University of Memphis. Richard and I have lived in east central Illinois since 1982. We have three grown children and a gorgeous granddaughter.
In 1999 I began writing professionally after attending my first conference, Write-to-Publish in the Chicago area. Since then, I’ve written newspaper features and op-ed columns, magazine articles, and devotionals for websites, church bulletins, and publications such as The Quiet Hour.
Tyndale House published my first book in 2005, The One Year On This Day. The One Year Women of the Bible was published in September 2007. I also contributed a story to the bestselling anthology, Classic Christmas: True Stories of Holiday Cheer and Goodwill (Adams Media, 2006).
Awards include recognition by the Illinois Press Association and a Roaring Lambs Award from the Amy Foundation. In 2006 I received the Writer of the Year Award at the Write-to-Publish Conference for The One Year On This Day.
Besides writing, I speak and teach at conferences whenever I get the opportunity. I’m a 2006 CLASS graduate (Christian Leaders, Authors, and Speakers Services), a member of AWSA (Advanced Writers and Speakers Association), Christian Authors Network, Toastmasters International, and the online group, The Writers’ View.
